The Darent River at dawn this week, at a spot just south of Eynsford, was so stereotypically beautiful I rather fancied a Hobbit might pop his head out from behind a tree.

Brede High Woods in East Sussex is a fine place for mushrooms, in this case what I believe to be an outburst of spectacular rustgills.
